Marc in the Gulf War - 1991 Welcome to VeteransAgainstTheWar.com. This site's purpose is to allow open discussion about the war in Iraq. I felt this site was necessary as when people say they are against the war their patriotism is questioned. As a veteran, I feel no one has the right to question my patriotism, yet I am vehemently against this war. My in depth thoughts can be found here. Let us here yours. Anyone can make posts or comments here simply by registering and assigning yourself your own login and password. You don't need to be a veteran. However, if you are a veteran, please state so in your post or comments. You don't have to be against the war either to post or comment. We want to hear all sides, just don't question another veterans patriotism. Any ideas or suggestions are welcome. We are looking to organize and setup peaceful protests throughout the country to get people more involved. Perhaps, united, we can make a difference and bring our soldiers home and ready to go where they are most needed. Remember, whether you support the war or not, always support our soldiers as they make the ultimate sacrifice to be the guardians of our freedom.

“During the Vietnam era, we heard that America lost the war because of the cowardly politicians, the unpatriotic antiwar demonstrators, and the traitorous media. The truth is, we could not have won in Vietnam, and we cannot win now in Iraq. The world of insurgents understands our military and knows how to wear down the great military leviathan. Our chances of winning in Iraq are the same as they were in Vietnam: zero.”

Boycott Sinclair Advertisers

Feel helpless after the election, offended how the majority of media show a one sided biased view of the war and the current administration? Here is a website that has a great idea: Boycott the businesses that fund these media moguls and send them letters telling them why. I’m gonna have to get a new cell phone provider as SPRINT is on the list. Damn.

This is pathetic. Alright If this article pisses you off, these are the numbers to call:

U.S. Senate: Hillary Clinton: 202-224-4451; Charles Schumer: 212-486-4430
U.S. House of Representatives: Maurice Hinchey: 845-344-3211; Sue Kelly: 845-897-5200
Secretary of Defense: Donald Rumsfeld: 703-692-7100
Fort Hood: Major General James D. Thurman: 254-288-2255 or Fort Hood operator at 254-287-1110; Public Information Officer Jim Whitmeyer: 254-287-0103

I’ll see if their is something we can do on our end. Perhaps some kind of fund raiser. More on this soon …

So let me get this right: It is a horrible thing and worthy of an impeachment if you lie about receiving a hummer in the white house but if you lie about weapons of mass destruction which is the basis for the war and now over 1,000 US soldiers are dead , that is okay and gets you re-elected. Something is seriously wrong with our VALUES!!!!!

We ask these guys to make the ultimate sacrifice, the least we can do is take care of them when they return. This is just pathetic. The economy must be pretty bad if people are still enlisting knowing that this is going on.

One of the few times I agree with him. Let’s do are part to ease the burden on our military and their familes. Why not go Here - (What To Send) and see what we can send.

“The American people must understand that democracy just doesn’t happen overnight,” he said. “It is a process. It is an evolution. After all, look at our own history. We had great principles enunciated in our Declarations of Independence and our Constitution, yet, we had slavery for a hundred years. It takes a while for democracy to take hold. And this is a major first step in a society which enables people to express their beliefs and their opinions.” -

Our Troops don’t have a hundred years to make Iraq free. Our government needs to be straight with its people and lets us determine how much we will put up with

If we truly have a volunteer Army than why must we threaten this young man. He already served in Afganistan. We hear from our government that they are exceeding all of their quota’s for enlistment. I understand that you enlist knowing that you can be sent to war but this man went to war and just realized he didn’t have the stomach for it or possibly other reasons. Whatever those reasons are though, if we truly have a volunteer Military than let this man perform a non-combatant role in the states until the end of his enlistment. Your thoughts?

- I thought Afganistan was to be the model democracy to mold Iraq after. Apparently we rushed to Iraq before we finished business with the Taliban.
